Tá cuid drochscéal againn! Beidh mé (Aodhán) ag dul go Gaillimh i gceann cúpla seachtain chun poist nua a thosnú, agus is trua mór é ach ní bheidh mé ar fáil chun clár seo a leanúint mar atá sé, agus mar sin shocraigh mé cuir críoch ar an clár an Satharn seo chugainn, an 4ú Deireadh Fómhair.
Thosaigh an clár Satharn Beo ar an 29ú Deireadh Fómhair 2005, agus beidh clár speisíalta againn mar deireadh clár ar Satharn 4ú Deireadh Fómhair 2008.
Go raibh míle maith agat le gach duine a bhí againn mar pháirt den clár.
Notice – 27/09/2008
We have some bad news! I (Aidan) will be moving to Galway soon to start a new job, and unfortunately I will not be able to continue the show as it is, so I have decided to end the show next Saturday, 4th October.
The show 'Satharn Beo' started on 29th October 2005, and a special farewell show will be broadcast on Saturday 4th October 2008
Sincere thanks to everyone who was part of the show.
Cas isteach liomsa gach maidin dé Satharn don dhá uair ceol agus craic, a craoladh as Gaeilge! Tá mílte rudaí againn ar an chláir, gach sórt ceol ó na cairteacha go na seascaidí, agus ar ndóigh a lán ceol as ceoltóirí Éireannach. Ná déan dearmad faoi An Amhráin Traidisiúnta ag 11.30rn, An Amhráin Grá ag 12.30in, agus An Amhráin Damhsa ag 12.50in. I ndáiríre sé gnáth sórt clár raidió - le ceol, iarratas, craic, spraoi, ar eile - ach sé craoladh as Gaeilge (agus b'fhéidir nach bhfuil sé gnáth clár!) Tá míle fáilte roimh chun iarratais a cuir isteach mar téacs ar 085 755 7055.
Join me every Saturday morning for two hours of great music and fun, presented through Irish. We play loads of cool music, from the charts back to the 60s, with lots of Irish artists too. Don't forget An Amhrain Tradisiunta at 11.30am, An Amhrain Gra at 12.30pm, and An Amhrain Damhsa at 12.50pm. Consider the show to be just like most normal radio shows - lots of music, requests, features, craic, etc. - except it's presented through Irish (and maybe not so normal either!). Your requests are always welcome - the text line is open during the show on 085 755 7055 (you don't even have to text through Irish if it suits you!).
Check us out on Bebo and join in on the action! You can leave comments, view the playlists, and find out who else has joined our friends list!
Some background information
I have been involved with the station for a few years now, and I've worked at a bit of everything! I've been presenting Satharn Beo since October 2005, but I've also worked as broadcast assistant for outside broadcasts, stand-in presenter, producer of various shows, voice-over and production of ads, website updating, photgrapher, etc, etc! I work out of the Athlone studios, based in Monksland.
I've just completed my final year as a Commerce student at NUI, Galway, and I went to school in the Marist College, Athlone. While in college, I was PRO of the Rotaract Soceity, and I was also Auditor of the Radio Society and I'm involved with the campus radio station - Flirt FM 101.3. I'd describe myself as a bit of a Gaelgóir (an Irish language enthusiast perhaps?). I'm also a motoring fanatic, a Pioneer (i.e. I don't drink alcohol!), and a follower of Ros Na Rún. I'm also involved in running Drum Community Centre (don't forget Drum Bingo every Friday night at 8.30pm, don't miss it!).
