Robbie Donnelly was born on the sunny holiday Island of Jersey in Nineteen Hundred and Seventy One to a small family of short, freckled faced people who he later learned to call Mum, Dad and his 2 sisters Tina and Sue.
Robbie had a fun-loving childhood where every year his so-called loving family would build a raft for him, and told him to see how long it would take him to paddle all the way to France – at night – in a force 7 wind!
He was later educated at First Tower School, and then on to Grainville School, where he learnt many of the things that have made his life so glamorous today. For example, how to make a fart noise by cupping your left hand underneath your right armpit and forcing you right arm down in a thrusting motion, How to make any food taste great by just adding chocolate to it, and also realizing that in TV world, you wouldn’t want to live in the same town as Jessica Fletcher from Murder She Wrote, as you would probably end up dead within weeks.
Robbie’s Radio career stared in 1991, when he started working for Channel 103fm in Jersey on the Sunday Night Show. This is when he discovered his fictional family, Sergeant Jim Bergerac and Diamonte Lil.
Robbie is now the Production Manager of Midlands 103 Creative and lives in Kilcormac with his wife Jean, Daughter Holly and pet dormouse Walter.
To date, Robbie has won 4 National Awards for Commercial Production, and he still keeps in touch with Jim and Lil.
