Written 1 month ago by Angel Croitor

Bluebird Care, the homecare provider, is creating 370 jobs around the country – with 35 positions in Laois, Offaly, & Kildare and 10 people in Longford, Westmeath & Roscommon.

Caoimhin Armstrong, the Managing Director of Bluebird Care for Laois, Offaly and Kildare, spoke to Will Faulkner on Midlands Today about the services they offer and what they’re looking for in their applicants.

“We provide homecare and personal care and assistance to support our customers live and remain independent in their home and own community.”

Their general goal is customer comfort and well-being. The main work comes from the HSE but they also take on private clients.

Their motivation to expand their services can be put down to the demand of home care. People are now more confident in home care services because of the increase of professionalisation of the workforce in this sector.

To date this is the largest recruitment they’ve undergone. Caoimhin assures us that this has come about simply to organic growth for the company mainly through the work that has been coming from the HSE.

Currently Bluebird employ 1600 people across the nation and they’re just about to bump it up closer to 2,000.

Care to apply? Caoimhin informs us that the minimum is QQI for Care of the Older Person and Care Skills – you must have both modules. If these modules don’t apply to you then you may still have a chance if you show evidence of a caring nature and/or have previous experience in caring for a loved one.
