Jordan Dempsey has won The Manley Memorial Trophy for being crowned International Driver Of The Year.
He spoke to Will O’Callaghan on Midlands Today about this honour and the future of his driving career after a fantastic run so far.
Jordan won the Sexton Trophy in 2017 and since then he has joined a very exclusive club – becoming one of only a small number of Irish competitors to win an FIA Championship, having secured outright honours in the FIA F4 Chinese Championship in his debut year.
“I had in the back of my mind about the International one – but I never really thought I’d get it.”
Jordan says when the news hit him he was shell shocked. He wasn’t just crowned ‘best racing’ or ‘best rally’ driver – but best International Driver Of The Year.
“It’s just such a good way to cap off my year as the Sexton Trophy winner.”
