The Leix County Hotel in Borris in Ossory has sold at today’s Allsop auction for its reserve price of €120,000.

Among the other local lots to go under the hammer today was a 24 apartment development at Shannon Weir in Athlone which was purchased for €1.35m.

Four units of Edenderry Shopping Centre were bought for €100,000 while an apartment complex at Pearse Court on O’Connell Street in Athlone went unsold.

Allsop’s commercial director Robert Hoban described the Leix County Hotel to potential bidders at the RDS.
