11% Rise In Midlands House Prices

The cost of buying a home in the Midlands continues to rise steadily.
Figures from the CSO show that prices across the region increased by around 11 per cent last year while the average nationally jumped by over 12 per cent.
The median price paid in 2017 was €150,000 in Laois, €146,000 in Westmeath, €144,000 in Offaly and just €85,000 in Longford.
A report yesterday showed that rents across the Midlands last year also rose by around 11 per cent.
