Over 80 Awaiting Admission To Midlands Hospital
Written 1 week ago by Newsroom
Over 80 people are awaiting admission to Midlands hospitals this afternoon.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation say that Tullamore is the busiest with 39 patients without a proper bed.
It comes as management at the facility has implemented the HSE’s escalation policy to ease overcrowding – while asking people to visit their GP before the ED where possible.
Elsewhere locally, 22 people are on trolleys or in already full wards in Mullingar and Portlaoise’s total is 20.
Nationally, almost 500 are waiting.
