A Midlands Hospice Will Need Grassroots Support
Written 3 months ago by Newsroom
The Irish Hospice Foundation is calling on concerned groups in the Midlands to work with them towards creating a hospice in the area.
The region has no palliative care units even though national policy says there should be ten patient beds beds for every 100,000 people.
The IHF has produced a framework plan with the Government but capital costs need to be raised by local groups.
The unit could then be funded by the Department of Health.
Ballylinan native Sharon Foley is CEO of the charity.
