Abortion Legislation May Be Passed Tonight

TDs are debating new abortion laws possibly for the final time this evening.

The government is hopeful the legislation will be passed tonight after two weeks of debate.

However they only have until 11pm to do so – and there’s still around 20 amendments to get through.

Progress has been slow so far – with the Daíl being suspended less than three minutes into the debate after repeated interjections from TD Mattie McGrath.
