Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a fatal crash in Co. Tipperary.

A 44 year old man died when his car hit a concrete column on the M8 southbound just past junction 7 in Ballyknock, Cashel at around 3.15 yesterday afternoon.

His body was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post mortem will take place today.

A forensic collision exam has taken place at the scene.
