Army On Standby In Westmeath During Psychiatric Nurses Strike

The army is on standby in Athlone and six ambulances are available to be deployed if needed as the Psychiatric Nurses Association will be on strike from 2pm today.

A strike by 500 ambulance workers, could cause a backlog at emergency departments.

It’s the second time they’ll have walked off the job in a row over union recognition.
