Coillte denies paying legal fees for Laois County Council arising from a community dispute over a wind farm.

The forestry body was given planning permission for 18 turbines on Cullenagh Mountain five years ago but objectors successfully argued to the European Court of Justice that further environmental assessment was needed.

Protestors gathered at council buildings in Portlaoise today, unhappy with the lack of planning enforcement, however the local authority won’t comment.
