Councillor Says New Health Centre Must Maintain Current High Standards

Plans to build a new 50-bed health centre in Athlone must maintain the high standard of care that is currently provided.

That’s according to Fianna Fáil councillor Aengus O’Rourke, after it was confirmed that the HSE has lodged an application to construct a new, state of the art facility in Clonbrusk.

While the South Westmeath Hospice says its service in the town is not closing, the HSE proposals involve moving St. Vincent’s Hospital and hospice services to the new centre once it is built.
