Data Centre Law Expected Before Christmas

The Planning Minister says an amendment on fast-tracking data centres will become law before the Christmas recess.
New legislation would prevent a repeat of the delays to Apple’s 850 million euro project in Athenry, Co. Galway – another appeal was lodged this week to the Supreme Court.
Earlier this year, the Taoiseach announced the Government’s intention to make Ireland a hub for the centres in Europe.
Speaking in the Dáil, Minister Eoghan Murphy hopes it will be finalised in the coming weeks.
