Deportation Turns Life Of Ballinasloe Couple “Upside Down”
Written 3 years ago by Newsroom
The Dáil has heard that a deportation order has turned the lives of a Ballinasloe couple “upside down”.
Fianna Fáil’s Eugene Murphy says Harriet Bruce married Brazilian Kleber Medeiros last year before a complaint was made that it was a union of convenience.
After being deported in July, he must now return to Ireland to sign the official certificate after the HSE ruled that the marriage was genuine.
The Department of Justice says it won’t comment on individual cases.
Roscommon-Galway deputy Murphy says Harriet has travelled to Brazil to be with her husband.
