Eleven On Trolleys For 24 Hours In Midlands

Eleven people have been waiting on trolleys at Midlands hospitals for more than 24 hours.
HSE figures this morning show that there are five at each Tullamore and Portlaoise waiting for more than a day, while Mullingar has one.
Overall, 49 are without a proper bed across the three facilities this morning.
Meanwhile, three days of strikes by nurses will begin tomorrow, unless the Labour Court intervenes today.
Fifteen hours of talks between the INMO, HSE and senior civil servants ended at 3am.
There’s still no sign of a resolution to the dispute over pay and working conditions.
The Labour Court will make a decision this morning on whether it can intervene and avert the industrial action.
