EPA Report Highlights Ongoing Concerns Over Portlaoise Water Supply
Written 3 years ago by Newsroom
Work to prevent Cryptosporidium entering Portlaoise’s water supply is due to be completed by next July.
The latest EPA report highlights that there is still inadequate treatment to stop the parasite contaminating tap water used by 23,000 people.
Cryptosporidium can cause gastrointestinal illness.
None of the 108 ‘at risk’ supplies across Ireland are in Offaly or Westmeath.
