Flanagan Concerned After Fire At Proposed Asylum Seeker Centre

The Justice Minister says he’s very concerned following a fire at a proposed centre for asylum seekers.

The blaze at the Shannon Key West Hotel in Roosky, Co. Leitrim broke out at around 8 o’clock last night.

The hotel was the centre of an ownership row, after the Government announced in November that it was to be used to accommodate asylum seekers.

However just before Christmas an agreement was reached to instead turn it into a four star hotel.

Laois Fine Gael TD Charlie Flanagan says the cause of the fire is still not known.
