Funding Needed To Fight ATM Robberies – Analyst

A Westmeath security analyst believes the Justice Department needs to provide funding to help the Gardaí stop a state of ATM burglaries on both sides of the border.

It comes as senior officers are being reported to be calling for measures to be introduced to stop cash machines becoming easy targets.

Last Friday, two were ripped from the wall of banks in Kells with a digger, while Minister Charlie Flanagan has said he is open modern technology being used.

However, Declan Power says there’s a simpler solution:
