Gardaí Obliged To Highlight Any Interference On Stations – Burke
Written 1 month ago by Newsroom
A Longford Westmeath Fine Gael TD says Gardaí would be obliged to highlight any political interference in operational matters.
Peter Burke says that at the moment, he believes that the decision to reopen a Garda station in Dublin was not made by politicians.
Opposition parties believe it is politically motivated because Stepaside is in Minister Shane Ross’ constituency.
Deputy Burke, a member of the Public Accounts Committee, says Gardaí would have to come forward if that were the case.
