Higher Ground Set To Be Worst Hit By Snow

Written 11 months ago by Newsroom

Higher ground in the Midlands is particularly at risk of snow showers over the coming hours.

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow snow and ice warning which will take effect from 4pm today.

Accumulations of up to three centimetres are possible in parts while icy conditions are likely on the roads.

Along with higher ground, counties in the north and north west are expected to be worst hit.

The warning will remain in place until 4pm tomorrow.

Met Éireann says it will stay very cold for the rest of the week with wintry spells and frosty nights.
