Gardaí in Athlone are asking homeowners to be vigilant following an attempted break-in in Priory Park.

At 9 o’clock last night, a suspected burglar was seen walking along the property’s roof and when Gardaí arrived at the scene, they found marks left by a crowbar around an upstairs window.

Householders are being urged to keep all windows and doors locked and to report any suspicious activity.
