North-Westmeath Hospice say they can’t help fund a new centre in Offaly until commitment of state support for existing centres is given.
The HSE is asking Midlands hospice groups to contribute to a new palliative care unit in Tullamore Hospital.
While Chairperson John Shaw supports the development – he won’t allow it to impact on the current level of service being given to his community.
