HSE Orthodontic Role Vacant For Five Years

New figures show long waiting lists for orthodontic care in the Midlands.
According to the Health Service Executive, there are almost 1,900 people awaiting treatment in Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and Longford.
The region is served by the equivalent of 2.6 specialist orthodontists, supported by dental nurses and clerical staff, however, a consultant role has been vacant for nearly five years.
Speaking in the Dáil, Fine Gael TD for Longford Westmeath, Peter Burke was critical of the HSE:
