IFA Calling For Attendance At Emergency Meeting

Written 1 week ago by Mary Kate Findon

The Irish Farmer’s Association is urging people across the country to travel to their emergency meeting in Laois this evening.

They’ve invited local TDs, councillors and MEPs to the Killeshin Hotel at 8.30 to discuss what they’re calling a crisis in the beef and livestock industry.

The Chair of the Laois branch says factories have cut beef prices again in this last seven months which has heightened tensions among agri-workers.

Francie Gorman says different groups need to come together to plan for how to better market beef.
