IPAV Calling On Government To Offer Funding To Smaller Developers

A group representing auctioneers is calling on the Government to offer funding to smaller developers to build more homes.

The Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers is reacting to the CSO’s residential property price index, which show the median price paid for a house in the year up to August in Laois was €145,000, in Westmeath it was €140,000, while Offaly’s total was €130,000.

Nationally, there was an overall rise of 15%.

CEO, Pat Davitt says unless more houses are built, prices will continue to rise.
