Irish Rural Link Frustrated Over Missed Opportunity With Garda Stations

Irish Rural Link says it’s frustrating that community groups missed out on the opportunity to buy former garda stations.

It comes after three former garda station in the Midlands were sold for €20,000 or less.

Séamus Boland says it is a pity that there wasn’t a pro-active attempt to sell the properties to community groups that are crying out for space.

He says although work might have been needed on former barracks, which were sold for €15,000, it would have been a better to offer them up to local groups.
