“Justice Dept. Moving Prisoners To Improve Figures”

Clare Daly is accusing the Department of Justice of moving inmates from Cloverhill Prison to the Midlands Prison to make figures for those without a bed look better.
According to the Irish Times, the Independents4Change TD had been reacting to figures which show the number sleeping on the ground in the Dublin facility dropped from over 300 to just 22 in July.
Meanwhile in the Portlaoise facility, the number of prisoners on mattresses rose significantly from just under 290 in June to more than 670 the following month.
