There are fears for policing in Westmeath following the deparature of the newly appointed chief superintendent.
Johanna O’Leary was appointed to the garda division two weeks ago, but has now been moved to set up a new anti-corruption unit within the gardaí.
It comes ahead of major restructuring of divisions, that will see Westmeath merge with Meath.
But Longford-Westmeath Labour TD, Willie Penrose, feels a replacement should be found before then, to ensure garda operations in the county can continue at full capacity:
