None of the 2,000 members of the Association of Garda Sergeants & Inspectors have received formal training on the new domestic violence legislation.
The AGSI is calling on the Garda Commissioner Drew Harris to prioritise training in the , saying the lack of preperation is deeply concerning.
General Secretary John Jacobs says victims of this nature of abuse deserve the best protection and support possible, and to do that more should have been done to familiarise Gardaí before it came into law.
