A Laois man remains in a critical condition in hospital after being stabbed at the weekend.

Twenty-two year old Jamie Hennessy from Doonane was attacked at a house on Love Lane in Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny on Saturday evening.

Three men arrested as part of the investigation were released without charge.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
