Live Register At Nine Year Low In Midlands

The number of people on the Live Register in the Midlands is at its lowest point in over nine years.

According to the CSO, around 18,700 signed on last month across Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and Longford – down almost 4,000 since last year.

The Midlands experienced the largest percentage decrease in the country of 17.5 per cent.

Nationally, the seasonally adjusted total stands at around 244,000.
