A man in his 30s has been charged following a massive drugs seizure in Offaly.

Cocaine, cannabis and amphetamines worth in excess of €1m were found during a search near Geashill on Wednesday.

A sawn-off shotgun and ammunition were also seized.

A man in his 30s detained at the scene will appear in court in Portlaoise on Saturday.

The arrest forms part of an ongoing investigation into organised crime in the Midlands.
