Will Faulkner’s prediction:
MEATH WEST
Like Laois, this is a three seat constituency and there are two previous elections from which to draw form. Fianna Fáil returned two candidates in 2007 while Fine Gael won one seat. Five years later, the Fianna Fáil vote collapsed and Fine Gael saw both Damien English and Ray Butler elected, with Peadar Tobín securing the third for Sinn Féin. If national opinion polls are reflected locally, the three big parties should have one candidate each.
Prediction:
Peadar Tobín SF
Shane Cassels FF
Damien English FG
