House prices in the Midlands are growing at the third highest rate in the country.

Figures from the Central Statistics Office show an 8.2% growth in the Midlands last year.

This is over 5% higher than the national average.

However the cost of a home is still 20% lower than at the peak in 2007.

The biggest increase was along the border, with property values rising by over 15%.
