Midland Students To Protest Climate Inaction

Midlands students are joining a worldwide call for climate change action by protesting outside Government offices this afternoon.

At 12 noon, pupils from Sacred Heart and Coláiste Choilm will meet at Offaly County Council, urging councillors to put more emphasis on practices that don’t harm our environment.

While in Westmeath, Marist College, Athlone Community College and Our Lady’s Bower will hold a Friday’s For Future march outside Athlone Civic Centre.

They’re inspired by Swedish student Greta Thunberg, who’s been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize for her work on the subject.
