Midlands Abuser Jailed For Three Years

A midlands judge is telling a sex abuse victim to be proud of her ability and strenght.

She was just seven years old when she was groomed with sweets and magazines by Sam McAllister, who was 28 years her senior.

The court heard the abuse lasted for seven years at a location here in the midlands.

Mr McAllister claimed he had only pleaded guilty after being threatened at gunpoint by two masked men but his attempt to change his plea was rejected and he subsequently apologised to his victim.

The victim impact statement portrayed trust being destroyed, difficult school years and low self-esteem.

Judge Keenan Johnson described her words as cogent, reasoned and powerful.

The court heard Mr McAllister suffered significant head injuries in a 1992 assault, leaving him blind in one eye.

A surgeon said the injuries were the most severe he had ever seen.

Taking everything into account, the Judge sentenced him to three years in prison, with a further three suspended.
