Motorists In Midlands Urged To Slow Down Over Bank Holiday Weekend

Written 3 years ago by Newsroom

Local Gardaí are urging motorists to slow down and pay attention this bank holiday weekend.

Nearly 160 people have died in collisions so far this year – up a quarter on last year – while 19 lives have been lost in October alone.

The focus of this weekend’s safety campaign is to ensure that pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists are clearly visible and that lights are working on vehicles.

Sergeant Graham Kavanagh from Tullamore Garda Station is appealing to motorists to watch their speed.
