Mullingar Doctor Wanted To Kiss Patient

Written 3 weeks ago by Newsroom

A doctor is being suspended for telling a patient at Mullingar Hospital that he wanted to kiss her.

Dr Sid Ahmed Hassan Mohammed Hamd, with an address at Alriyadh, Saudi Arabia, was found guilty of professional misconduct after an emergency department patient complained to gardai over his advances.

He has since left the country but the committee recommended he only examine female patients in the presence of a chaperone from now on, except in life threatening emergencies.

Suspending the doctor for six months, Justice Peter Kelly deemed it ”rather astonishing” that he passed the Medical Council’s language competency test.
