Mullingar Traders Call For Council To Stand Down

A Mullingar shop owner is calling for Westmeath County Council to stop enhancement works in the town for December.

Traders claim the local authority has broken a promise to not carry out the works in the lead up to Christmas – however barriers are still erected – with disruption caused.

The €3 million project is expected to be completed in the Summer of 2019 and rejuvenate Pearse Street, Castle Street, Market Square, Mount Street and Dominick Street.
