New School To Open In October – A Year Behind Schedule

Westmeath County Council says its disappointed with the slow progress with the construction of a new primary school for Mullingar.

The project at Curraghmore consists of 16 new classrooms and two special needs units, and was to be completed last September – but is a year behind schedule.

The local authority says it’s continuing to pursue the contractor for a speedy delivery time and will update the Board of Management with monthly progress reports.

Fine Gael Councillor Andrew Duncan says there are a number of reasons for the delay:
