Number Of Homeless In Midlands Falls Slightly
Written 1 month ago by Newsroom
The number of people presenting as homeless in the Midlands has fallen slightly.
Official figures show that 71 adults and 47 children accessed emergency accommodation in Laois, Offaly, Westmeath and Longford last month, compared to 73 adults and 55 children in July.
Nationally, the total has risen by over 100 to around 8,300.
The Department of Housing says it will continue to work closely, quickly and proactively with local councils to identify further solutions that will reduce those numbers.
