Offaly Man Gets 636 M50 Toll Letters

An Offaly man is being fined 15,000 euro for unpaid motorway tolls.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland has sent over 600 letters to Michael Kavanagh of Kilbrook Upper, Tullamore, however it says they went unanswered.
Dublin District Court heard the commercial vehicle owner was supposed to pay a toll of €5.30 per trip on the M50, with a total of 212 charges unpaid.
Judge Anthony Halpin issued fines of 165,000 euro to 13 motorists in a single sitting yesterday.
