Written 4 days ago by Ben Finnegan
Management at Tullamore Hospital are asking patients to consider other options before presenting at the emergency department.
Services are said to be very strained at the Offaly facility with delays expected.
The hospital says it has implemented the HSE’s escalation policy and is working to discharge patients as quickly as possible to make beds available.
According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, 25 people are awaiting admission at Tullamore, while there are 15 in Mullingar and Portlaoise’s total is eight.
