Pedestrian Killed In Offaly Crash Named

A pedestrian who died after being hit by a car in Offaly is being named locally as Tony Leavy.

The incident happened at Clonmeen Cross, Rhode, on Friday morning and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car had been taken to hospital with injuries.

Gardaí in Tullamore are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area at the time of the incident to call 057 9327600 or any Garda Station.
