People Spending Longer In Emergency Accommodation
Written 11 months ago by Newsroom
A homeless charity says people are spending longer in emergency accommodation as rents rise and properties remain short in supply.
The Midlands Simon Community, which has two six-bed shelters in Tullamore and Athlone, has been commenting on a report by daft.ie which shows that rents rose by around 11 per cent in the region last year.
The average in Laois and Westmeath is €830 while the average in Offaly is €790.
Chairman of Midlands Simon is Mark Cooney.
