Portarlington Boil Notice Is Precautionary – EPA

The EPA say a boil notices affecting Portarlington is precautionary and there’s no trace of e-coli.
One hundred and fifty customers are affected by the sources outside the town, called ‘Lough’, and ‘Portarlington Two’, due to concerns about disinfection at the local treatment plant.
However, it’s believed to be a temporary measure, but the Laois Offaly border town is one of eight across the country with such issues.
