Rail Strike Edges Closer
Written 4 days ago by Newsroom
Commuters are facing the prospect of strike action at Irish Rail.
Management say they offered a 1.75 per cent pay rise to workers based on new productivity measures but this has been rejected by unions who want a no-strings-attached deal.
They have previously threatened industrial action.
Barry Kenny of Irish Rail says the dispute needs to be referred back to the Labour Court.
The NBRU’s Dermot O’Leary says trade unions will now finish counting their respective ballots.
