A Midlands homeless charity says the state should be doing a lot more to tackle the problem.

CEO of Midlands Simon, Tony O’Riordan is making the comments ahead of the charity’s ‘Sleep Out’ fundraiser in association with Midlands 103 which takes place tonight at O’Connor Park in Tullamore, O’Moore Park in Portlaoise, and the Arts Centre in Mullingar.

Last year’s event raised over €70,000 for the local service.

Mr O’Riordan says they helped four people sleeping rough during Storm Ophelia earlier this week:
