Stanley Hits Out As Sinn Fein Wind Turbine Bill Defeated

A Laois Sinn Féin TD is accusing Fianna Fáil of failing to protect communities who don’t want big wind farms.
Brian Stanley’s bill, which proposed a setback distance of 10 times the turbine height, was defeated by a margin of two to one in the Dáil.
The Government’s draft guidelines, which are due to go out for public consultation next month, include a setback of 4 times the turbine height and must be at least 500 metres.
